Catalist is a listing board on the Singapore Exchange (SGX) for smaller, growth-oriented companies, operating under a sponsor-supervised, disclosure-based framework rather than the fixed quantitative admission criteria used by the SGX Mainboard. A sponsor — typically an investment bank or corporate finance advisory firm — takes responsibility for assessing a company’s suitability for listing and continues supervising it after listing, in place of SGX applying standardised profitability or size thresholds upfront. This makes Catalist broadly comparable in purpose to Bursa Malaysia’s ACE Market and HKEX’s GEM board, even though the specific rules differ across the three exchanges. As with those other growth boards, Catalist-listed companies as a category tend to carry a shorter track record and more risk than Mainboard-listed peers.
